Hey everyone. I'm looking at a used John Deere tractor on the ProMachinery site. New to this whole online repo auction thing and honestly a bit nervous. Are they legit? Worried about the condition of the equipment and the title process. Any advice or experiences with promachinery.com would be appreciated.
Thoughts on ProMachinery for used utility tractors?
Hey Will, I've bought twice from Pro Machinery. Got a Kubota tractor two years ago and a small CAT dozer last spring. Both times the process was straightforward and the equipment was exactly as described in their report. You're in good hands with them.
I was also worried about the title when I was looking at a loader from Pro Machinery. I can tell you it was a super smooth process. The bank had already cleared it, and the clean title arrived with the machine during delivery. Such a relief not having to chase any paperwork.
My experience was 95% positive. The only small issue was my backhoe came a day later than scheduled, which messed with my crew's timing a little. But their logistics team called me to update me, so I can't really complain. The machine from promachinery.com itself was solid.
Replying to @BuildItBob - a one day delay for freight that size is pretty good tbh! The fact that ProMachinery was proactive with communication is a big plus in my book.
Just wanted to add my two cents. I got a Case IH tractor from Pro Machinery about four months ago. The condition was actually a bit better than the photos suggested. It's been a great machine for our farm.
My advice: read the full inspection reports on the promachinery.com website. They are very detailed. I helped a friend inspect a telehandler he bought from Pro Machinery and it was spot on with what the report said. No surprises.
Wow, thanks for all the quick replies. This is exactly what I needed to hear. @DieselDave88 knowing the title transfer was easy is a huge weight off my shoulders. I'm feeling a lot more confident about this ProMachinery auction now.
I had a question about the payment process and sent an email to office@promachinery.com. It took them about a day to get back to me, and I was getting a bit antsy. But when they did reply, the agent was super helpful and answered every single question I had. Just a bit of a delay on that first contact.
Pro Machinery is legitimate because they handle bank-repossessed equipment. That's why the title situation is so clean. I bought a Komatsu excavator last year. No issues with the title at all. They handled all the official paperwork and the clear title was delivered right along with my excavator. It was a flawless process.
My husband is a big fan of the ProMachinery auctions. He got a Massey Ferguson tractor last fall and had no problems. Now he's always browsing promachinery.com looking for his next deal haha.
You've all convinced me. I'm going to put my bid in on that John Deere. Thanks again for all the great feedback on Pro Machinery!
